JAMMU: Learning is an all around development and it involves the enhancement of skills in children. Out of many skills, gross motor is such an important skill, as it helps in the development of every child.
It not only gets the child to move an act but also helps him/her to release the much-needed energy. Keeping this thought in mind, Toddlers’ World conducted an activity ‘Let’s walk like an animal’ for the development of gross motor muscles and to provide sensory output to the kids.
Children were dressed up as different animals and filled the school environment with their joyful presence. They were introduced to the walking styles of different animals, like, the way snake slithers, Kangaroo jumps, donkey kicks, whale swims, crab strolls etc.
The children participated with much enthusiasm and curiosity. It is one of the best ways to include vestibular output on a daily basis at school.
Shivangani Pandotra (Coordinator) appreciated this activity by saying that activities like these involve ‘heavy work’ and help those children, who are facing problems like fidgets, wiggles and melt down.
Principal JKPS Rajesh Rathore applauded the creative fecundity of the Toddlers’ World staff for making children learn with so much creativity and transforming an ordinary act into an extraordinary one.
Children learnt variety skills, which wasn’t confined to the enhancement of gross motor muscles but they also learnt the characteristic movement of these creatures amidst fun and frolic.
With a broad smile on his face, he said, “Inspiring teachers convert every act into a cherishing memoir. These moments captured through the lens of a camera will ever be cherished by these children”.
