The Bold Voice of J&K

Injustice with youth

Dear Editor,
This refers to the screening test schedule issued by J and K PSC for recruitment process of lecturers in Education Department.
The test schedule in some subjects coincides with the already notified dates of other Exams like National Eligibility Test (NET). Further, the aspirants have been provided much insufficient duration for preparations which is injustice with the candidates as they are supposed to revise entire PG level syllablus in a few weeks which is practically impossible. Even under fast track mechanism, there should be a gap of atleast two months between date of announcement and date of examination.
Moreover, most of the scrapped priviliges with these posts in the name of new recruitment policy, should be restored. The new entrants are being punished for no fault of theirs. While they fulfil all the eligibility criteria, it is irrational to deprive them of its priviliges. According to this policy, the new appointees are supposed to work in cut off areas for a specified period and that too on a meagre salary. This can be deemed to be exploitation of highly qualified youth in the name of so called reforms.
Incase Govt wants to adopt austerity measures, then charity begins at home. Let them reduce the retinue size of so called VIPs and scrap their unnecessary lavish expenditure that amounts in crores. Same yardstick should be applied to all because we are governed by same laws. However, punishing the middle class people is no justice. CM is requested to look into this urgent matter on priority keeping in view the career and livelihood opportunities of qualified youth.
