Information Deptt organises debate on importance of forests

BHADARWAH: A debate competition was organised by the District Information Centre Doda on Monday at Blue Ribbon Higher Secondary School Bhadarwah in which large number of students participated. The theme of the competition was ‘Save Forest’. Swarn Singh Jamwal Principal BRHSS was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Around 22 students participated in the event and highlighted the importance of forests for the survival of humankind.
The speakers threw light on the burning topic of deforestation, destruction of forests and its impact on future generations. They laid emphasis on planting more and more trees to save nature and maintain the ecological balance.
Shivangi Jamwal bagged first position in the competition, whereas Aayat Malik and Salooni Bhagat got second and third position respectively. The Chief Guest advised the students to plant more trees for pollution control and environment preservation. Later, prizes and certificates were distributed among the participants by the officials of the Information Department.
