Indian senior women’s team leaves for 3rd AVC Volleyball Challenge Cup in Thailand

BHUBANESWAR: 18-member Indian Senior Women’s Volleyball Team left for the participation of the “Princess Cup” 3rd AVC Women’s Challenge Cup Volleyball Championship to be held at Nakhon Pathom, Thailand from June 24 to 29 2022 under the auspices of Asian Volleyball Confederation.
The team, comprising of 14 players and four officials, was flagged off from Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.
Earlier, the Volleyball Federation of India had entrusted the Odisha Volleyball Association to conduct the coaching camp of 20 provisionally selected players at Biju Patnaik Indoor Stadium, Campus-13, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar from 22nd April 2022 onwards.
“After the successful conduct of Coaching Camp 14 players were finally selected along with 04 officials and will leave for Thailand from Bhubaneswar on Wednesday to participate in 3rd AVC Women’s Challenge Cup Volleyball Championship 2022 at Nakhon Pathom, Thailand,” VFI handout issued on Wednesday stated.
Prof. (Dr.) Achyuta Samanta, Member of Parliament, Kandhamal and President Volleyball Federation of India as also Founder KIIT & KISS has provided all kinds of help and support for the smooth conduct of this coaching camp and extended his good wishes to the team for Asian Volleyball Championship.
Prof. Samanta also announced the Indian Senior Women’s team and given Kit to all the players and officials of the squad.
The Team: Rani Gunjan, R Aswathi (L), K Devika Devarajan, N.S Saranya, Soorya S, K. S Jini, Nirmal (C), M Sruthi, Johnson Jincy, K.P Anushree, Ghosh Anusri, Ambika, Angel Joseph and Das Anannaya.
Officials: Vijaypal Singh (Manager), Chauhan Pritam Singh (Head Coach), Vaishali Phadtare (Assistant Coach) and Rameshwer Chauhan (Referee).
