Indian senior men’s Volleyball team leaves for 2022 AVC Cup

JAMMU: Indian senior men volleyball team left on Friday for the participation in Asian Volleyball Championship ( AVC) Cup for Men to be held at Nakhon Pathom, Thailand from August 7 to 14, 2022.
Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) had entrusted the Odisha Volleyball Association to conduct the selection trial-cum- coaching camp of the Indian senior men volleyball team at KIIT University, Bhubaneswar.
The coaching camp of 20 provisional selected players was held at Biju Patnaik Indoor Stadium, Campus-13, KIIT University from May 20 onwards.
Mannat of R S Pura in Indian Volleyball team
JAMMU: Mannat Choudhary of R S Pura Tehsil of district Jammu has been made part of the Indian Volleyball team heading for Thailand to take part in AVC (Under 20) Cup beginning August 7.
With his selection, Mannat has become second player from J&K after Saqlain Tariq of Poonch to be included in the Indian Volleyball team taking part in an international event.
Meanwhile, Chairman Shaheed DySP Manjit Singh Memorial Volleyball Club and FIVB Level 1 coach, Mohd Tariq hailed the selection of Manat in under 20 team.
After the successful conduct of coaching camp, 14 players were finally selected along with five officials and left for Thailand from Bhubaneswar today to participate in the 2022 AVC Cup for Men.
Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Member Parliament Kandhamal, President Volleyball Federation of India and Founder KIIT & KISS has provided all kinds of help and support for the smooth conduct of this coaching camp and also extended his good wishes for their success in AVC Cup.
The Team: Dushyant Singh (Captain), Joshnoor Dhindsa, Sandeep, Ajay Kumar, Sameer Chaudhary Tanish Choudhary, Harshit Giri, Aman Kumar, Jibin Job, Sachin Dagar, Mannat Choudhary, Ajeet Shekho, Karthikeyan K (L) and Suryaprakash Banjara (L).
Officials: Kuldip Magotra (Manager), G.E Sridharan (Head Coach), Rajesh Kumar (Assistant Coach), Praveen Sharma (Assistant Coach) and Shaikh Aezaz Sikander (Referee).
Team Manager Kuldip Magotra, Associate Secretary of Volleyball Federation of India and Chief Executive Officer of Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir, received that team at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata.
“The young team with mostly under-20 boys has been given the opportunity to get the international exposure by the VFI with the sole aim to prepare them for the 2023 Asian Cup and 2024 Olympics,” informed team Manager, Kuldeep Magotra.
Meanwhile, Chief Patron Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir, Raj Daluja, President, Sidharth Daluja besides other office bearers also congratulated Kuldip Magotra for appointing as Manager of the Indian team and wished him and team best of luck for the championship.
