Indian Council for Cultural Relations to showcase JK’s music, dances in Thimpu

JAMMU: Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India is going to present a programme of music and dances of Jammu and Kashmir in Thimphu (Bhutan) in connection with the National Day Celebrations of the Kingdom of Bhutan which are being held from 16th to 19th December, 2014. This was informed here on Tuesday by the Regional Director of ICCR Jammu, Balwant Thakur in a press briefing held at ICCR headquarters in Jammu.
Balwant Thakur said that best of the local dancers and musicians are being selected to take part in this International event. He desired that the interested dancers and musicians to contact ICCR Jammu for their consideration for this prestigious International participation. “Best of the performers keeping in view the International significance of this programme will be given the opportunity on purely merit basis. Artists having past experience may be given preference but outstanding talent will be the only qualification to be a part of this International cultural delegation which will perform to mark the National Day Celebrations of the Kingdom of Bhutan”, he added.
