cricket batMumbai:- Indian blind cricket team is set to leave for England to play three T20s and as many one-day matches against the host outfit from May 24 to 31, it was announced here today by the Cricket Association for the Blind in India.

CABI, which is affiliated to Paralympic Committee of India (PCI) and World Blind Cricket (WBC), said the team would also visit Bahrain and play matches there from June 1-4 and return home on June 5.

The team has been practising in Valsad, Gujarat since May 18 and its captain Shekar Nayak said that it was well prepared to take on England.

“The team is well prepared and is in good form. Recent experiences of playing zonals and earlier World Cup wins make me confident of a win in the Bi-lateral series too. We have a good coach who has been working hard with us and the boys are very determined,” said Nayak.

“The proposed tour is very important as the champions are playing first international tournament after the World Cup victory. This will be a good preparation for the forthcoming second T20 World Cup for the blind in 2016 (to be held in the country),” said Mahantesh G Kivadasannavar, the general secretary of CABI.
