Inculcate cross-cultural values among students: VC JU

JAMMU: Eid-i-Milad-ul-Nabi was celebrated in the hostels of New Campus of Jammu University with great fervour by the boarders of all the faiths. The celebrations in connection of the Birth Anniversary of Prophet Mohammad were unique from the last occasions as the boarders not only extended the greetings to each other but also, on their self initiative, a community dinner was organised for all the boarders irrespective of the faiths thus enhancing the spirit of communal harmony and the brotherhood.
Prof. R.D Sharma, the Vice Chancellor of Jammu University underlined that besides the better academics on campus, such like events has earned the University of Jammu an A-Plus grading from NAAC and 64th rank in the All India University ranking. He emphasized that it is these cross cultural values need to be inculcated among the students so that they could become carriers of the goodwill and harmony, wherever they may go.
Provost (Boys’ Hostels) Prof. Rajeev Rattan welcomed the Chief Guest and all other dignitaries including the Wardens Dr Satinder Kumar, Dr. Jaspal Singh and Dr Gurudev Singh along with the Resident Wardens Dr Sandeep Sandy, Dr Surender Paul and Dr Bodhraj who also attended the programme.
Dr Neeraj Sharma, Special Secretary to Vice Chancellor also graced the occasion as the Special Invitee. The programme was well compered by Rizwan-uz-Zaman, Bandey, Mohsin, Tahir, Som Raj and Dalbir the Research Scholars of Nehru Hall Boys Hostel.
