JAMMU: “Patience is the foundation for resilience and growth, enabling better judgment and perseverance towards long-term goals.” With this impactful statement, Atharv Gupta of Grade VIII Maple, along with his classmates, conducted a deeply inspiring Morning Assembly on the theme “Importance of Patience in Life” at JK Public School, Kunjwani.

Principal, JK Public School Kunjwani, Rajesh Rathore and students addressing morning assembly on Friday.

Whetting the intellectual appetite of the audience, Mayukh opened the discussion with thought-provoking words: “Patience sounds passive, right? It feels like waiting around and accepting defeat. We live in an age of instant gratification, but what if I tell you that this very speed is making us slower – weakening our ability to think deeply? Today, my friends and I hope to help you change your perspective on patience.”
Under the Quotations Segment, students presented timeless wisdom from great thinkers across ages. Smakesh Raj cited a Chinese proverb: “One moment of patience may ward off a great disaster, while one moment of impatience may ruin a whole life.”
Vidhavari Sumbria referred to Arnold H. Glasow’s words: “The key to everything is patience. You get the chicken by hatching the egg, not smashing it.”
Akshar Gupta echoed St. Francis de Sales: “Have patience with all things, but first of all with yourself.” Yuvraj Singh reminded the audience of Rousseau’s enduring truth: “Patience is bitter, but its fruits are sweet.”
Adding a lyrical touch to the assembly, Sejal Bhagat recited a soulful poem titled “Patience”, weaving imagery of hope and endurance:
“Patience is the quiet art,
Of trusting time
to play its part”.
“A seed that sleeps
beneath the clay,
Still dreams of sun
and bloom one day.”
“It whispers soft
when tempers flare,
‘Calm your heart,
and just stay there’.”
“For every dawn
that greets the eyes,
Was once a night
that learned to rise”.
Applauding the presenters, Principal, JK Public School Kunjwani, Rajesh Rathore, shared an inspiring reflection, “In a world that celebrates speed, it is patience that quietly builds greatness. It teaches us to pause, to persevere, and to trust the process even when results are not immediate. Every flower blooms in its own time; every success story is written with moments of waiting, endurance, and faith.”
He further added, “As learners, remember – patience is not about doing nothing; it’s about doing everything calmly, without losing focus or hope. Whether it’s mastering a subject, nurturing a friendship, or chasing a dream, patience is your greatest ally. Always remember: In the stillness of patience, greatness takes root. Let’s stay steady in our efforts, gracious in our waiting, and confident that our time will surely come.”
