JAMMU: An impressive Shobha Yatra was taken out in the City of Temples by Dogra Brahmin Pratinidhi Sabha in connection with the Bhagwan Parshuram Jayanti here on Monday.
Puja of Mata Gayatri, Saraswati and Bhagwan Parshuram Ji Maharaj with Vedic and Sanatan principals, a Shobha Yatra (Jankhis) commenced from Parade and after passing through Moti Bazaar, Pacca Danga, Chowk Chabutra, Panjtirthi, Darbargarh, Jain Bazaar, Link Road, Purani Mandi, City Chowk, Kanak Mandi, Rajinder Bazaar, Veer Marg, Raghunath Bazaar, Ranbireshwar Mandir finally culminated at Chanakaya Chowk Brahman Sabha, Parade.
The Jhankis displayed various events in the life of Bhagwan Parshuram i.e. Murti of Bhagwan Parshuram Ji, Bhagwan Shri Ram Panchayat Darbar, Rameshwar Jyotir Lingam, Bhagwan Shiv and Parshuram, Baba Jitto, Sidheshwar Sant, Dwarka Nath Shastri and Mata Champa Sharma.
Ganga Dhar Shastri, a renowned saint alongwith followers with the Jhanki of Sidheshwar Dawarka Nath Shastri Ji Maharaj followed by sizable number of followers was also present in Shobha Yatra.
People from various walks of life participated including MLAs, MLCs, socio political leaders whereas distinguished personalities including ladies and religious preachers were the part of Shobha Yatra.
Impressive reception was accorded by the Bazaar committees enroute the procession. Besides this, special Puja was performed by the Pujaris of various temples, enroute.
While concluding, the representatives of the Sabha expressed thanks to all those who extended their cooperation to make the function success.
Earlier, Yagya was performed in the Sabha premises in front of Bhagwan Parshuram Temple which was followed by Sahbhoj in which thousands of people participated. After Sahbhoj, a Kirtan was held in which Sat Pal Raina, a distinguished Bhajanneek recited Bhajans.
The prominent persons who participated in the Shobha Yatra includes V.P. Sharma, Krishan Lal Sharma, Mohan Lal Sharma, Nanak Chand Sharma, Sat Pal Sharma, Subash Shastri, Gurdas Sharma, Vijay Sharma President Parkhoo, Mahant Har Dut Sharma, Shiv Ram Sharma, Devinder Sharma (Babbu), Vijay Sharma, D.N Pangotra, Advocate, Rajesh Thappa, Shiv Charan Dass, Rajesh Bhargotra, Kerni President Youth Wing, Kali Dass Sharma and Ram Murthi.
