JAMMU: Slamming the Centre for not addressing their long pending demand of ‘One-rank One-pension’, retired personnel under the Central Para Military Force Welfare Association (CPMFWA) of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday demanded one rank pension and increase in medical allowance.

A large number of retired personnel on Thursday assembled in front of Press Club here and raised anti-government slogans for not addressing their long pending demands.

“We demand that the Central Government should address our long pending principal demand of one rank one pension”, CPMFWA General Secretary, Darshan Kumar told reporters.

He also demanded revision of Pension Pre and Post 2006 retirees by honoring the Apex Court decision.

Protesters also demanded Martyr status to the soldiers killed in action/on duty, equal duty equal wages, enhancement of medical allowance from Rs. 500 to Rs. 2000 per month, CSD facilities, 10 per cent reservation quota for  wards   and   young widows   in   recruitment,   education institutions as well as in technical institutions,  promotion of Central Paramilitary Services cadres upto Director Generals, establishment of Ard Sainik Welfare Board (ASWB) at District level with Directorate at state/central level, revision of widow pension etc.

“These are long pending demands of our association but the government has totally failed to address the same till date “, Darshan said.

“We have given our service to the nation. Some of the officers and jawans laid down their lives in the defence of the nation. But we are being treated badly by the government”, he claimed, adding, “we deserve better facilities from the government”.

Others present were K.C Bhagat, R.L Dogra, Tharu Ram, Mohinder Singh, Dalip Singh, Mohammad Mazeed, Gurbachan Singh and Koushal Singh.
