SRINAGAR: Reviewing the enquiry conducted by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag (District Vigilance Officer), in connection with illegal construction of shops by Nazir Ahmad Sheikh of Mirmaidan, Dooru, the State Vigilance Commission (SVC) directed Executive Officer, Municipal Committee, Dooru Anantnag to appear in person on 30th August, 2016, the next date of hearing, along with relevant record pertaining to the case.
Earlier, the Commission had received a complaint from Ahmad-ul-Lah Sheikh of Dooru alleging therein that one Nazir Ahmad Sheikh has constructed shop illegally without obtaining proper permission from competent authority and subsequently the SVC asked the District Vigilance Officer (DVO), Anantnag to enquire the matter and submit its report to the Commission.
The report submitted by the DVO prima facie revealed that the shops have been constructed without obtaining the building permission from Municipal Committee (MC) Dooru.
In view of the stand taken by the respondent, herein, before the Civil Court, it prima facie appeared that the officers of the MC, Dooru have either colluded with the private respondent or have for some extraneous considerations failed to perform their legitimate duties resulting into the construction of the shops without permission that too in sheer violation of Ribbon Development Act, the order passed by the commission said.
