JAMMU: Iknoor Kour retained the Sub-Junior girls’ singles title beating Raghini Gupta 3-1 in the final of the ongoing Stag State Table Tennis Championship under the banner of J&K Table Tennis Association at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here on Tuesday.
The Cadet boys’ singles title went to Adnan, who trounced Gurasees 3-2 while Cadet girls’ singles final won by Niharika, who beat Tuheen.
Earlier in the junior girls semifinals Iknoor defeated Vidhushi by 3-0 and Ragini got better of Vanshika by 3-0.
Hanumat Sharma continued his winning streak from the district championships and sailed through to the Junior boys final by defeating Akhilesh Khajuria by 3-1 and will take on Saksham Verma who got a scare in the form of Maanay Mansotra in the semis but managed to held his nerve to beat him by 3-2.
Jr Boys semifinals: Saksham beat Maanay 3-2, Hanumat beat Akhilesh 3-1.
Youth Boys quarterfinals: Ritvik Gupta beat Anooj Dutta 3-0, Maanay beat Hanumat 3-1, Manandeep beat Faisal Mir 3-0.
Junior Girls final: Iknoor beat Ragini 3-0.
Men singles first round: Ritvik beat Sahil 3-0, Faisal beat Satyam 3-0, Akhilesh beat Abhay 3-0, Maanay beat Kanav 3-0, Nitin beat Sunny Sharma 3-0, Anooj Dutta beat Prikshit 3-1, Rajan beat Mannat Arora 3-0, Manandeep beat Harshit 3-1. Vetran Men semifinals: Amit beat Purshotam Khajuria 3-0 and Anil Abrol beat Mahesh Khajuria 3-2.
The technical panel for this tournament comprised Gurvinder Singh Sasan, Sandeep Khadotra, Vasu Dewan, Meenu Rajesh and Asad Sharma.
