JAMMU: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu under the leadership of Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu inaugurated its Management Development Program (MDP) titled “Managerial Mindset: Strategies for Effective Leading and Decision-Making,” tailored for professionals from the Indian Metro Rail Organization Society at its Srinagar Campus.
The program aims to equip participants with essential skills to navigate through the complexities of contemporary business environments.
Representatives from Indian Metro Rail organizations, ranging from Chennai Metro Rail Limited, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation, Jaipur Metro, Kochi Metro Rail Limited, L&T Metro Hyderabad, Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited, (MMRCL), and U.P. Metro, are participating in this transformative initiative.
Dr. Mamta Tripathi, Program Director at IIM Jammu, delivered the welcome address, giving an overview about the MDP Program and the importance of fostering effective leadership and decision-making skills within the Indian Metro Rail sector.
Dr. Pratik Maheshwari, Co-Chairperson, Executive Education, IIM Jammu gavean introduction to Executive Education & Consulting (EE&C) at IIM Jammu, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to professional development.
Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Academics at IIM Jammu, provided insights into the institution’s academic excellence and its role in shaping future leaders in the business landscape.
He mentioned that the Indian Metro Rail sector faces diverse challenges in its operations, necessitating strategic decision-making and effective leadership. Recognizing this need, IIM Jammu has curated a comprehensive 3-day MDP aimed at empowering participants with the knowledge and tools to overcome these challenges.
The MDP will feature 12 power-packed sessions covering a wide range of topics organized under five distinct themes ranging from Team Management & Conflict Resolution in Teams, Understanding the Leadership Role & Styles, Understanding & Designing Effective Strategy, Strategic Decision Making
Participants will gain invaluable insights and practical skills, including, Learning to manage effectively in networked or matrix environments, Developingagility and smart leadership capabilities, Staying updated on scientific & technological developments to drive organizational transformation, Understanding the decision-making process and identifying cognitive biases and shortcuts. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Jaganth.G, Program Director, IIM Jammu and event culminated with the national anthem.
