IIJSA organises seminar on ‘Scenarios in Jammu, post de-operationalization of Art 370 in light of SC’s Judgement’

JAMMU: International Institute of J&K Studies and Analyses (IIJSA) Jammu organised a seminar on “Scenarios in Jammu, post de-operationalization of Art 370 in light of Honourable Supreme Court Judgement” at Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), here on Saturday.
The seminar was presided over by Kuldeep Khoda, former DGP J&K State and Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal, (Retd) was the Guest of Honour. Brigadier (Dr) Vijay Sagar Dheman, Managing Director IIJSA Jammu in his keynote address highlighted the peculiar aspects of emerging social, political and developmental scenarios in Jammu in light of Supreme Court of India approving the actions of the Govt on August 5, 2019 for ‘Naya Jammu’ evolving into a viberant entity. KB Jandial, IAS (Retd), emphasised the aspects of Supreme Court of J&K. He opined that judgement is welcome but it would have been better, if they had adjucated on the issue of statehood as well. He also assured that it will result in industrialization of Jammu and even that prosperity.
Adv Sumer Khajuria in his address, questioned the legality of the process of adoption of Art 370 and 35 A and explained to the house as to how the legal provision were intelligently flouted by the Govt of the day in 1949 to appease a particular section of J&K. Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh rendered an advice to the Dogra in Duggar Land to leave their difference aside and unite to avail this golden opportunity (which is once in centuries) to pave the way for golden evolution of ‘Naya Jammu Division’ for generation to come. Kuldeep Khoda pointed out the positive aspects that are ahead for the youth of Jammu. The seminar was conducted by a young scholar Arushi Sharma, welcome address was delivered by Prof Aekta Gupta, Associate Director, IIJSA Jammu and vote of thanks was presented by Prof Shalini Rana, Hony Secretary IIJSA Jammu.
