IGP seeks public cooperation in maintaining harmony

JAMMU: Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu, Danesh Rana convened a meeting with representatives of various social and civil organizations and prominent citizens here today.
MLC, Ramesh Arora, District Development Commissioner Jammu, Simrandeep Singh, DIG, Jammu, Ashkoor Ahmed Wani, SSP Jammu, Dr. Sunil Gupta, ADC, Jammu, Arun Manhas were also present in the meeting.
IGP appealed to the people not to pay heed to the rumours and sought their cooperation in maintaining communal harmony and peace in the region. He said that adequate steps are being taken to ensure safety of the Yatris and provide them all facilities. Rana also warned of strict action against the unscrupulous elements found indulging in rumour mongering. While speaking on the occasion DIG Jammu Ashkoor Wani assured that J and K Police and security forces are properly monitoring the situation and requisite steps are being taken to check any untoward situation. District administration also sought public cooperation in promoting peace and harmony.
The participants put forth their suggestions and assured their full cooperation to the district administration and police in maintaining peace in the district.
