IGP Kashmir inaugurates Baramulla Sports Festival

SRINAGAR: A three-day District level sports and athletics festival was organized today by Baramulla Police in collaboration with J&K Sports Council and Nehru Yuva Kendra.
The sports meet was inaugurated by Javaid Mujtaba Gillani, IGP Kashmir at Professor Showkat Ali Stadium Baramulla. Hundreds of young sportspersons and athletes hailing from all across the district are participating in the sports meet. Besides athletics competitions in games like hockey, volleyball, handball, kabbadi, table tennis, kho-kho, tug of war and other games will be part of the sports festival. A colourful cultural programme was presented by school children and other cultural tropes on the occasion.
Inaugural Kabadi match played between Gulshan Kabadi Club Trumbgund and Sultania Club Tujjarsharief and was won by Sultania Club.
Geelani said that police is organising such events, in addition to their routine duties to channelise the energy of youth in a positive
direction.
Among others DIG North Kashmir, Uttam Chand, Brig. Yogesh Choudhary, Nasir Naqash DC Baramulla, prominent citizens and hundreds of people especially the youth attended the inaugural function.
