RAMBAN: Danesh Rana IGP Jammu Zone reviewed security arrangements in connection with forthcoming Amarnath Ji Yatra 2015, conducted Police Darbar and also held public meeting here at Ramban on Tuesday.
For strengthening police-public relations and bringing people nearer to the police for better output in prevention and detection of crime, a police-public meet was held at Dak Bunglow Ramban which was chaired by IGP Jammu Zone in which large number of prominent citizens including members of various political parties, ward members, Sarpanchs, Panchs, social workers and ex-servicemen participated.
Randeep Kumar, SSP Ramban and other officers were also present in the police-public meeting. SSP Ramban requested the general public to express their suggestions, complaints and grievances before IGP with regard to the police working in Ramban district and other issues/suggestions pertaining to the maintenance of law and order. Danesh Rana gave patient hearing to the issues raised by the general public during the meeting, which were mainly pertaining to release of more funds under civic action programme.
Other issues were increasing the honorarium of SPO and their postings in the units near to their home place, installation of CCTV cameras to keep vigil on the activities of anti-social elements, removing encroachment in Main Market/other main bazaars of Ramban keeping in view the forthcoming Amarnath Yatra and holy month of Ramzan, and ensuring smooth traffic flow.
IGP Jammu Zone ensured them that all of their genuine issues would be redressed on priority and other issues which are out of the jurisdiction of Police would be communicated to concerned quarters for their immediate action.
Meanwhile, IGP Jammu Zone held Darbar of officers and jawans at DPL Ramban. The Darbar was attended by the jawans and officers from all Police Stations / Posts and DPL. During the Darbar, SSP Ramban, SDPO Banihal, Dy.SP Ops Gool, Dy.SP Ops Ramban and CPO Ramban were present along with other NGOs and jawans of District Police Ramban. Ample opportunity was provided to the jawans and officers to put forth their problems. The problems of jawans and officers were heard patiently and also resolved on the spot. It was also emphasized upon each official to remain extra vigil, careful and maintain close co-operation with other sister agencies to ensure safety and security of National Highway and other vital installations.
IGP Jammu Zone asked the jawans for remaining extra alert in their area of responsibility and to keep an eagle eye at all suspicious places and persons.
