I was initially skeptical to do ’24’: Sikander Kher
Mumbai: Actor Sikander Kher, who will be seen in season two of popular TV show “24” starring industry veteran Anil Kapoor, was initially skeptical to take up the project.
“When I was offered the show initially I was not sure.
But when I heard the role I just liked it. It is a great role,” Sikander told PTI.
Sikander, who plays a negative role in “24”, is the new addition on the season two of fast paced action series.
“For me, its a new project (referring to ’24’). The pressure would be there on the makers and producers. My job was to do my part to the best of my ability. I have not had huge hits in my career, so for me it’s to perform. I don’t think of pressure,” Sikander said.
To get into the skin of the character the “Woodstock Villa” actor learnt Gorakhpuri language to get his accent right.
“I am playing a real-life character then it makes sense to study and pick up things. But this role (in “24”) was fictitious… in that case I try to figure out the character in my head and then whatever comes out naturally I do that,” he added.
The 34-year-old actor knows Anil Kapoor, who is one of the protagonist of “24”, since his childhood days.
“When I was a kid going to his house very often for dinner and watching films. I was a big fan of him,” he added.
The show also featuring Sakshi Tanwar, Ashish Vidyarthi, Neil Bhoopalam and Sudhanshu Pandey goes on air from July 23 on Colors channel.
