AKHNOOR : A meeting of all sectoral officers of the Sub District and prominent citizens of Akhnoor was held in Forest Guest House under the chairmanship of Sub Divisinal Magistrate (SDM) Sunaina Sharma on Tuesday in which it was urged to improve the civic condition of the town so as to make it beautiful and congestion free.
The SDM in the presence of Executive Officer Muncipal Committee Garu Ram, SDPO Gurvinderpal Singh, SHO Akhnoor, Naib Tehsildar, former President D.N Abrol, former Vice President MCA Madan Lal, Sukhdev Singh, Devinder Sharma, Shakti Singh, Kuldeep Kour, Bansi Lal Gupta, Raghuvir Singh Didar Hussain, Dr. K.C Bhagat, Sanjeev Singh and others, brought out number of points to be given immediate attention and completion by all those concerned before Independence Day (ID).
The SDM directed complete cleanliness, removal of encroachments of path and roads by shopkeepers, only registered Rehriwalas to be allowed who will prominently display their license, no heavy vehicle to ply in the market between 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM nor they will cross steel bridge, vehicles not to be parked in ‘no parking’ zone, no stray cattle in the market and strict compliance of traffic rules. She said that a proposal for cattle shed should be initiated at a suitable place.
