Humeira, Shaista stand first in Naat, Seerat competitions

SRINAGAR: J and K Bharat Scouts and Guides organised a Seerat and Naat Competition at Oak Hill Institute of Education, Srinagar in which more than 15 schools participated.
On the occasion, IGP Telecom, Mubarak Ahmed Ganai, who is also the District President, J and K Bharat Scouts and Guides was the Chief Guest. Executive Director /Secretary, J and K State Social Welfare Board, Aamir Ali, who is also the District Chief Commissioner, J and K Bharat Scouts and Guides was the Guest of Honour.
Speaking on the occasion, IGP Mubarak Ahmed Ganai urged upon the youth to make efforts to make the world a better place to live in.
Humaira Jan of Government Higher Secondary School Khanyar stood first in the Naat competition, while Tanzeela of Oak Hill Institute stood second and Rehana of Firdous Educational Institute stood third. Falak of Legends School and Sawera from Green Valley got consolation prizes in Naat competition.
In the Seerat competition, Shaista of New Mission stood first, Aroosa of Firdous Educational Institute stood second and Aafreen Yusaf of Govt Girls High School Khanyar stood third. Ubaid of Learning Point and Syed Hadi Reza of Green Valley Educational Institute got consolation prizes.
The participants were judged by a jury consisting of Molvi Haji Ghulam Nabi Qureshi and Fida Gulzar. The programme was compered by Hilal Shafi.
Others present on the occasion were District Youth Services and Sports Officer Srinagar Muzaffar Tramboo, besides Imran Khan from Bharat Scouts and Guides, Chairman of the School Khursheed Ahmed, Vice Chairman Mansoor Ahmed and Principal Waseem Ahmed.
