Humanity Public School honours Yasmeen

SAMBA: Yasmeen Akhtar, a student of Humanity Public School, Bassi Kalan, popularly known with the name of flying girl of J and K, was honoured by the management of the school in a special assembly, held here on Friday.
“Yasmeen is one of the upcoming young budding talent who won gold medals in 100m, 200m, in Inter-District Athletic Championship held in the year 2014-15 organised by Youth Services and Sports, Samba,” Coach of the School, Mahan Singh said adding that besides this she also won gold medal in long jump in the same event.
Continuing her winning streak in the same year, coach said, she again won three gold medals in 100m, 200m and in shot put in the district level Rajeev Gandhi Khel Ratan Abhyan held at Sports Stadium, Samba.
At State level, she continued her successful journey by winning gold medals in 100 mtr, 200 mtr and 4 x 100 mtr relay races which were held in Srinagar, Singh disclosed.
Climbing every step successfully, coach also said, she again won gold in 100m, 200m, 4 x 100 mtr races in State level Rajeev Gandhi Khel Ratan Abhiyan held at Jammu in the Year 2014-2015.
Principal of the Institution, Gaurav Charak, along with Vice Principal Anku Charak and the Coach Mahan Singh, said that the school is one of the pioneer educational institutions in Samba District which works for the holistic development of the child.
“It not only makes its students excel in studies but also in games and sports,” principal said.
