NEW DELHI: Union Ministry of Human Resource Development honoured Balwant Thakur Director Natrang Jammu at the majestic Sri Fort Auditorium, New Delhi.
The honours were done by Dr. Mahindra Nath Pandey, Minister of State (Higher Education) at a grand function where the national awards for the Kala Utsav-2016 were conferred on the awardees of the year 2016.
This is the consecutive second time when Balwant Thakur has been felicitated by the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development who has also served as the National Jury for theatre in the National Kala Utsav 2015 and 2016.
Currently working as Regional Director-cum-consultant in Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Ministry of External Affairs, Balwant Thakur has also worked as Secretary J and K Academy of Art Culture and Languages for more than eight years. He served on the Boards of prestigious Institutions of the country including Department of Culture, Government of India, National Sangeet Natak Akademi, Indian Council for Cultural Relations, North Zone Cultural Centre, Union Ministry of HRD, Council for Promotion of Urdu Language and as an expert for National School of Drama, Department of Culture MP, Department of Language and Culture, HP and Association of Indian Universities.
