Host J&K boys team enters quarterfinals of 48th Junior National Volleyball C’ship

JAMMU: After back to back winning, host J&K Boys team entered in quarterfinals in the week-long 48th Junior National Volleyball Championship, organized by Volleyball Association of J&K in collaboration with J&K Sports Council under the aegis of Volleyball Federation of India at MA Stadium, here.
On the 4rd day on Thursday, host J&K boys team defeated Odisha by 3-0 (25-19, 25-14, 25-14). Mannat Choudhary, Harron and Musharaf showed their existence in the game efficiently.
Host J&K Boys team entered in quarterfinals in the championship after consecutively wining five matches against Himachal Pradesh, Puducherry, Ladakh, Tamil Nadu and Odisha.
The historical victory made for the first time by J&K Team in reaching in quarterfinals after qualifying its pool was unprecedented and thrilled the spectators.
The hard work of the players, office bearers of the Volleyball Association of J&K have paid the dividend in creating a history.
In today’s event, Pankaj Kumar Sharma, Excise Commissioner J&K was the Chief Guest while Sandeep Choudhary SSP Cyber Crime J&K Jammu and P.C Gupta Commandant CRPF Bantalab Jammu were the Guests of Honour who interacted with players of various States/UTs teams besides distributing mementoes to officials of Volleyball Federation of India and Volleyball Association of J&K.
Earlier, Ram Avtar Singh Jhakhar Executive Vice-President, Asian Volleyball Confederation, CEO Finance Committee Volleyball Federation of India & President Rajasthan Olympic Association was given a red carpet welcome on his arrival at Jammu Airport today by Anil Choudhary Secretary General Volleyball Federation of India, Vijaypal Singh Vice-President Volleyball Federation of India and Chairman Control Committee of the championship, Sidharth Daluja President Volleyball Association of J&K and Associate Joint Secretary Volleyball Federation of India, Kuldip Magotra Organizing Secretary of the Championship and other office bearers of Volleyball Association of J&K.
Today’s the league matches of the championship came to an end and knock-out basis matches would start from tomorrow.
