JAMMU: In a major breakthrough, police in a joint operation arrested a Hizb terrorist wanted in arsoning and looting case in Reasi district.
“In a joint operation launched by Reasi Police and Kulgam Police, one Sabzar Ahmed Mantoo, son of Gaffar Ahmed Mantoo, resident of Khushibhatpura, DH Pura, Kulga, a C-category terrorist was apprehended,” a senior police officer here said.
He said that the terrorist was nabbed from the house of Nizam Din Pogli of Chinkah, tehsil Thakrakote, District Reasi.
The officer said that the Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist was involved in arsoning and looting of PS DH Pora in 2016 and was wanted in many cases.
Cases were registered under FIR No103/2016 under sections 147, 148, 149, 307, 336,427, 225, 392, 364, 436 RPC, 13 Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and 7/25 AA and FIR No 124 u/s 147,148,149, 336, 332, 307 RPC, 7/25 AA,13 Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
The operation was led by probationary DySP Javed Amed under the supervision of SDPO Arnas.
