After the ceremony, student volunteers conducted a path Sanchalan (disciplined march) within the campus. This became the first-ever such march held in the history of Jammu and Kashmir within an educational institution (university). It stood as proof of the growing association of youth and students with the Sangh and the increasing strength and popularity of the RSS.
The celebration of the 100th Foundation Day in the Jammu University campus was marked with great enthusiasm, discipline, and an atmosphere filled with national spirit. The festival of Vijayadashami is regarded as a symbol of Indian culture and tradition, representing the victory of truth over falsehood, righteousness over unrighteousness, and virtue over evil. In this very spirit, Jammu University organized the event, sending a strong message of national unity and cultural pride not only to the university community but to the entire society.
On this occasion, a total of 113 swayamsevaks – including students, research scholars, teaching faculty, and non-teaching staff – were present in full uniform. Their disciplined and alert presence created a special attraction in the ceremony. In addition, 96 guests comprising students, research scholars, teaching and non-teaching staff, and residents of staff quarters also actively participated in the program.
The chief speaker of the program was Mukesh, Prant Pracharak, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh. In his address, he emphasized the need to awaken the spirit of nationalism and patriotism among youth and every citizen of society. He said that India had suffered cultural trauma and slavery for nearly a thousand years due to foreign invasions, particularly under Mughal and British rule. This long period deeply impacted the cultural consciousness of Indian society. At such a time, the only way forward is the reconstruction of nationalist awareness and the restoration of cultural pride.
Addressing the youth, Mukesh said that when young people cultivate discipline, service, and dedication to national interest within themselves, only then can the country become strong and self-reliant. He also clarified that the 100th Foundation Day is not merely a moment of historical remembrance but a continuous source of inspiration, urging us to come forward for positive social change and nation-building.
The chief guest of the program was Prof. B. S. Sahay, Director of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Jammu. In his address, he recalled his association with the RSS and highlighted how the Sangh has significantly contributed to nation-building and in instilling patriotism among the youth.
Prof. Sahay urged the youth not to limit themselves to academic excellence alone but also to understand their duties towards the nation.
He said that if the youth adopt the values of discipline, service, and dedication in their lives, they will not only make their own lives meaningful but also contribute significantly to the progress of society and the nation. His words infused new energy and inspiration among the audience.
On this occasion, Jasveer Singh was present as a distinguished guest. His dignified presence added further significance to the celebration.
The ceremony concluded with the path sanchalan of the swayamsevaks inside the university campus. The disciplined march in full uniform passing through the campus presented an inspiring sight for everyone present. The march conveyed the message that discipline, organization, and service are the true strengths of society and the nation.
The Vijayadashami celebration at Jammu University was not just a cultural and religious event but emerged as a living example of patriotism, discipline, and service. The disciplined presence of 103 swayamsevaks, the active participation of 96 guests, the nationalist address of Prant Pracharak Mukesh, the inspiring thoughts of Prof. B. S. Sahay, and the dignified presence of Jasveer Singh together gave this event special significance.
The celebration of the 100th Foundation Day was recorded as a historic and inspirational memory in the university campus, leaving an indelible impression of patriotism, cultural pride, and social unity in the hearts of all participants.
