Pak blames Modi for the Kashmir unrest, India retorts back saying Kashmir is an internal matter and Pak has no locus standi on the issue. This has been routine reaction whenever militants struck in India and this is not for the first time India has reacted it has been going on without any end results. Now see the audacity of the neighbouring country it has taken the issue to Parliament and declared the slain Hizbul terrorist Burhan Wani as martyr. Was Wani a Pakistani national who was eliminated by the Indian security forces? If it is what more India needs as evidence to nail Pakistan on its role in exporting terror to India and its hand in the current Kashmir unrest which has claimed more than 40 lives and damaged properties worth crores making life coming to a standstill for the last one week. Can Pakistan absolve itself from the charges of fomenting trouble in Kashmir and provoking India for a confrontation? Or is it a Jihad? Even the Kashmiri militant leaders cocooned safely and operating under the Pakistani masters’ tutelage from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir call this has Jihad? It is incourageous using religion to propagate terrorism and justifying the end by declaring the puppets as martyrs. Is it that we have become insensitive by allowing perpetrators to spill our blood on our soil? I am also baffled, why India has chosen to fight enemy in its own territory? If it is part of strategy then I am afraid it is a fatigued and tired ideology. In other words it is absence of strategy and lack of politico- military will to hit the enemy where it hurts most. Meek response and inability of the nation’s long arm to impose cost has made Pakistan bolder by the day because there is no fear of retaliation. It looks that PDP-BJP combine has failed to foresee the impact of the situation and must have under estimated it. The follow-up after the killing of Wani has taken the coalition by surprise. However, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has asked people to exercise restraint and not to get provoked by vested interests. It is because of India’s lack of a strategy that has boldned Pak to interfere in India’s internal matters. It will be better that India realises this fact and changes its strategy especially towards Pakistan.
