Heroin seized by ANTF J&K, drug dealers arrested from North Kashmir

SRINAGAR: The Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) of Jammu and Kashmir Police, in a consecutive operation, on Thursday busted a drug network by apprehending two hardcore drug dealers and seized heroin like substance weighing approx 800 gms.
“This successful operation is third in a row by ANTF in Kashmir within a week,” said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) ANTF, Vinay Sharma.
He added that their unit received a specific information that a contraband drugs deal was going to be struck at Brimri Chowk, Dragmulla, Kupwara which will further be sold in different parts of the Kashmir Valley.
On receiving this information, Vinay said, a team of ANTF J&K went to the spot and apprehended two individuals namely Mohammad Shafi Lone, son of Mohammad Ramzan Lone and Bilal Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Qadir Dar, both residents of Sopore.
“The duo was travelling in a Chevorlet Beat car bearing registration number HP22E-5622 and Heroin like substance worth Rs 4 crore was recovered from their possession,” Vinay said.
An FIR has been registered in this regard under relevant Sections of law and ANTF J&K is investigating further links in the case.
SSP Vinay requested the general masses for their support to the department in eradicating the menace of drug trafficking in the UT.
