Heritage School holds investiture ceremony

JAMMU: Heritage School Jammu held its sixth Investiture Ceremony on Saturday to mark the leadership qualities of its budding alumni. It was a festive occasion, where everyone was eager to witness the newly elected Student Council taking up their responsibilities of office.

Election for the Prefectorial Board always marks a significant beginning to the new session and this year the event was fortified by introduction of Electronic Voting System that ensured a very transparent process as well as quickened pace of result, which was certainly a breath of relief for all the aspiring candidates who were contesting the elections.

The occasion was solemnized in the presence of the august gathering of the distinguished parents of elected Student Council members.  Nothing could outshine the resplendence on the faces of the democratically elected Student Council Members who stood on the stage beaming with pride and self confidence.

The Vice Principal administered the oath to the newly appointed Prefectorial Board. It was a solemn occasion for the council members who were all prepared to don the mantle of leadership and discharge the duties and responsibilities entrusted upon them by the school and took the pledge to work earnestly and the uphold the honour and glory of the institution.

Oath taking was followed by the pinning of badges. The Principal, Heritage School,  pinned the badge on the shoulder of Manik Tripathi,  the Head Boy,  and Rhythm Babbar, the Head Girl.  The   Vice Head Boy, Pritpal Singh and the Vice Head Girl , Tanvi Raina were pipped by the  Vice Principal. Captain Cultural activities Hermeet Kour and Sports Captain Nirbhayjeet Singh received their badges from Incharge Cultural Activities and Sports Co-ordinator respectively. The House Prefects and the Vice Prefects were invested into the office by their respective Housemistresses. It was a memorable occasion for the young leaders as they looked forward to a new eventful and enriching academic year.

Principal, Jagadish Singh Dhami, congratulated the newly elected members of the student council and their parents. He opined that students of today are the visionaries and torch bearers of tomorrow, so it is essential to develop responsible human beings with leadership qualities.

He enthused the young leaders to uphold the values of the school and to keep the school flag fly high while discharging their duties with honestly and impartiality.

He expressed his faith in the ability of newly elected Prefectorial Board whom he hoped will take Heritage to new heights and glory.

After the   pipping and Oath taking ceremonies the Academic Coordinator (Senior Wing) proposed the vote of thanks. The programme came to a close with mellifluous rendition of the school song.
