Healthcare facilities at CHC Sankoo reviewed

KARGIL: Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer Kargil Haji Gulzar Hussain on Wednesday visited Community Health Center Sankoo and took stock of the healthcare facilities being provided to the patients there.

During the visit, the DC while enquiring the about the status of work on the 100 KV power facility at the hospital being constructed at a cost of Rs 5 lakh rupees directed the concerned agencies to expedite the work. He gave on spot directions to make the facility operational by tomorrow by working in double shifts so that the patients do not face any inconvenience.

While interacting with the patients the DC enquired about their well being and assured them that heating facilities at the hospital during the winter season shall soon be further improved with the operationalization of the 100 KV power facility.

Later the Deputy Commissioner held a detailed meeting with the hospital administration and discussed the facilities available in the hospital. The DC was apprised of the problems faced by patients especially due to lack of specialists and shortage of staff at the hospital. The introduction of Quality Control Assurance Programme at the hospital under Swacch Bharat Mission also came up for discussion. The DC while expressing satisfaction over the introduction of the programme at CHC Sankoo directed the CMO Kargil to take necessary steps for introducing it at other health institutions across the district.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner also conducted a surprise checking of various offices including the office of the Sub Divisional Magistrate Sankoo and Executive Engineer Suru Valley Division. He also reviewed the situation arisen at Sankoo town and adjoining villages after the season’s first snowfall. The DC stressed for keeping men and machinery ready to carry out snow clearance and road maintenance works on the NH 301 as well the interior roads in the area.

Haji Gulzar while taking stock of the ongoing Aadhar enrolment of the left out people in Sankoo and Suru areas gave on spot directions to the concerned to extend the enrolment process at Sankoo block for 4 days considering the growing demand of people of the area.

The DC while underlining the need for regular attendance of employees in offices to address people’s issues and grievances directed the SDM Sankoo to check attendance of all employees on regular basis adding that they strictly adhere to office timings so that full attendance of employees at Government offices is ensured. He said that strict action as per the law should be initiated against the employees found unauthorizedly absent from their duties.
