Head Constable hands over bag containing ornaments to owner

UDHAMPUR: In a case of rare honesty the Udhampur Police on Tuesday recovered a bag and handed it over to its owner in front of the media.
The Head Constable Ved Parkash recovered a bag which contained gold ornaments besides clothes and other items of a passenger namely Govind Ram son of Hans Raj resident of Bodata, Panchari, district Udhampur. The police after tracing out the owner from some papers kept inside the bag contacted him and was satisfied that it belonged to the rightful owner. It may be mentioned that Govind Ram had come from Kathua alongwith his family and had to go to Chaneni while carrying out transshipment to Chenani bus, he inadvertently left his bag at Matador stand Udhampur.
The Additional SP Udhampur M.L Kaith and SHO held a press conference and then handed over the bag to its owner who confirmed to have received his belongings including gold without loss.
