JAMMU: About 60 players took part in the State Yoga Championship, held in the premises of Handa College of Education, Sainik Colony, here on Friday.
The meet was declared open by the Director of Handa College of Education, Gurpreet Handa.
Yoga players from Srinagar, Rajouri, Udhampur, Ramnagar, Reasi and Jammu showcased various Asanas.
Certificates of Merit and medals were awarded to the winners by Rangil Singh, President J and K Olympic Association, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Also present on the occasion were Prof. Ashutosh Sharma, Secretary General J and K Olympic Association and Chairman Indian Olympic Association; Dr Vikram Handa Director Tiny Tots Group of Schools and Handa College of Education; Anshuman Sharma, General Secretary J and K Yoga Association; Surinder Pathak, Vice-President, Officiating Secretary and Senior Yoga Coach; Mukesh Kumar, Yoga Coach and officials from Srinagar, Rajouri, Udhampur, Ram Nagar, Reasi and Jammu.
WINNERS: BOYS 8-11 yrs: Ranjeet Singh 1st, Lachpat Raj 2nd and Vishal Sharma 3rd. 11- 14 yrs: Tarun Kumar 1st, Ketan Sharma 2nd and Rajinder Singh and Rizwan Rashid 3rd. 14- 17 yrs: Nadeem 1st, Naman 2nd and Mitesh Jamwal 3rd. 17- 21 yrs: Ankleshwar 1st.
GIRLS 8-11 yrs: Seerat 1st, Himani Verma 2nd and Taniya Kumari 3rd. 11- 14 yrs: Simran Kumari 1st, Risha Rajput 2nd and Aashvi Mahajan 3rd. 14- 17 yrs: Muskan Rajput 1st , Harshita Sharma 2nd and Tina Saini 3rd. 21-25 years: Owaisa Khan 1st.
