JAMMU: A youth identified as Joginder Kumar alias Shammi son of Chuni Lal resident of New Plot Jammu made an attempt to commit suicide by putting house on fire but was saved with the timely intervention of Rehari Police.
According to Police the youth Joginder Kumar was running a gym, boutique and a hair dressing saloon in a hired building and became bankrupt. Since he was unable to liquidate his debts and could not pay even the house rent, he climbed on to roof of the house and after sprinkling kerosene oil all around, put it on fire with a plan to burn himself alive.
Due to the timely intervention of Rehari Police the fire tenders were summoned and the youth was saved and also the fire in the house was brought under control.
