JAMMU: Guru Nanak Nagar Club (GNNC) and Zorawar Club won their respective matches to enter into the next round of the quarterfinals of the ongoing Second Sant Gurbaksh Singh Danna Memorial Hockey Tournament at K K Hakhu Stadium, here on Tuesday.
In the first round of pre-quarterfinals, GNNC registered a 3-0 win against Singh Club Bandurakh. Leading by a goal in the first half of the play, GNNC improved the margin adding two more goals after the breather.
Sachdev sounded the board for the first goal in the 24th minute while Sukhneet and Gurpreet added one goal each striking in the 52nd and 59th minute of the match respectively.
Meanwhile, in another scheduled match, Zorawar Club defeated Young Star Simbal Camp 4-0. Sohail Sharma (25th), Jog Raj (37th), Manjeet Singh (47th) and Sunny (57th) were the scorers.
FIXTURE: Banda Bahadur Club Poonch shall take on Jath Kapoor Club at 1:00 PM; Namdhari XI shall face Power House, Poonch at 2:30 PM on Wednesday.
