Gurezi listens to grievances of local people

SRINAGAR: Minister of State for PHE Irrigation and Flood Control, Nazir Ahmad Gurezi on Sunday conduct an extensive tour of Sonawar Constituency and took stock of the people’s problems besides developmental needs of the people of the area.
During his tour, the minister convened several meetings in the constituency which included Balhama, Zoura, Khanmoh, Zewan, Zewan Bala and other areas. The people of these areas projected their demands and problems before the minister including better road connectivity, upgradation of schools and Primary Health Centres, proper deployment of staffs in PHCs, uninterrupted power supply, repairs and construction of lanes and drains, macadamisation of local roads, construction of bypass road and other development projects.
The minister said that the Omar led government is committed for equal development of the State and is determined to fulfil all promises made with the people in shortest possible time. He said that a number of steps have already been taken by the government while work is going on several projects under various sectors.
Gurezi issued on-the-spot directions to the concerned department for redressal of grievances and problem of the people as early as possible.
Seeking support from the people to strengthening the hand of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the minister said all out efforts are being made by the government for improving the basic needs of the people.
On way several deputations met the minister and apprised about their individual and collective problems being faced by them.
The minister also inspected the under construction work on New Type PHC at Zewan Payan and directed the concerned authority to ensure that it should be completed as early as possible so that people can avail benefit of the it.
Among others, officers from several departments accompanied the minister.
