Gul visits flood affected area of Eidgah Constituency
SRINAGAR: The Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Mubarak Gul on Thursday visited various flood affected areas of Eidgah Constituency and took stock of the measures taken by the government for immediate relief and rehabilitation of the affected families. The areas visited by the Speaker included Noorbagh, Guzarbal, Pomposh Colony, Palpora, Krishibal, Chountifaqir, Badiwadur, Sangam, Syedpora, Nowabazar and other adjacent areas.
The Speaker directed the Flood Control Department to prepare a comprehensive Detailed Project Report for raising, construction and re-strengthening of bund from Safakadal to Bakshipora and submit the same to the concerned quarter for release of funds. He also asked for taking long term measures against flood in future.
Several deputations met the Speaker during his tour and apprised him about their individual and collective problems. These included early functioning of Noorbagh hospital, providing of ration, LPG and concession in interest on bank loan. Gul gave them patient hearing and assured them that every possible help would be provided by the Government to the people.
The Speaker directed the CAPD authorities to ensure free ration to every consumer of the Eidgah Constituency well in time.
