AKHNOOR: Madan Lal Sharma, veteran Congress leader and former Minister and MP while addressing a series of public meetings at Naiwala, Chak Kripalpur, Muthi and Maria in Akhnoor Constituency appealed to the Government of India to accord sanction to the settlement package for refugees recommended by the State Government on top priority to fulfill their aspirations which are their right also. He said that Coalition Government has recommended one time settlement of PoK/ Chhamb displaced families at the rate of Rs. 25 lakhs per family to the Government of India and now the ball is in the Centre’s coat. Sharma said that those terming coalition decisions on refugees a political gimmick are be-fooling the people as people know that Congress President Sonia Gandhi and former Prime Minister S. Manmohan Singh had asked the State Government to send the proposal but Kashmir Centric allocations could not made it happen but now this come true by the pressure put by the Congress. He Refugees Package, was required for Government of India to take a decision.
Sharma appealed to the people to send Sham Lal Sharma PHE Minister back to the Assembly for keeping vigil and watch on the interest of Jammu region and the responsibility lies on the shoulders of Akhnoor people to re-elect him in the interest of Akhnoor in particular and Jammu region in general .
