Gram Panchayat Development Plan: Field functionaries of various departments directed to meet on monthly basis

JAMMU: In order to ensure provision of public services at grass-root level and timely resolution various issues and grievances faced by people, the Government has directed field functionaries of various departments to meet on monthly basis for discussing preparations, implementation, execution and review of Gram Panchayat Development Plan of a Panchayat.
As per an order issued by Dr Piyush Singla, Secretary to the Government states, “In furtherance of instructions issued in terms of Circular No. 36-JK(GAD) of 2022 dated 13.10.2022, it is hereby ordered that frontline workers viz; Patwaris, Panchayat Secretaries, ICDS Workers, ASHA workers, Forest Guards, REZs, and other grass root functionaries of various Departments viz; Power Development, Jal Shakti, Irrigation & Flood Control, PW(R&B), Health & Family Welfare, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Industries & Commerce, Floriculture, Education, Skill Development, Youth, Services & Sports etc shall meet on first Monday of every month for discussing preparation, implementation, execution and review of Gram Panchayat Development Plan of the respective Panchayat. If first Monday is a holiday, they shall meet on following working day.”
It was further ordered that the Secretary Panchayat concerned shall be the Member Secretary of the said meeting and all Departments shall ensure presence of their representative/front line workers/grass root functionaries in the said meeting without fail. “Report of the monthly meetings shall be sent to Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj and shall also be uploaded at specified portal,” it added.
