Govt to take up with IAF issue of airlifting patients from inaccessible areas: Dy CM

JAMMU: Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Kumar Singh today informed the Legislative Assembly that the Government would take up the issue of airlifting patients from inaccessible areas of the State with the Indian Air Force (IAF), which previously used to provide such services.
The Deputy Chief Minister was responding to the concerns of the Members as several Legislators raised the issue of airlifting of patients from inaccessible areas like Drass, Kargil, Gurez, Tanghdar and other areas.
Dr Singh said the matter of airlifting of two patients raised in the House was taken up with the concerned authorities and the Chief Secretary is in constant touch with IAF in this regard.
He assured the House that these patients would be airlifted tomorrow.
He said the timeframe of the agreement with IAF which was in place has expired and the Government would take up the matter afresh with the concerned.
With regard to another issue of CMAT examination centres, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the matter was taken up with the concerned authorities. He said the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) has agreed to shift the exam centre for the Kashmiri students to the Valley.
