Govt should be accountable for poor results: AJKLTF

JAMMU: President, All Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation (AJKLTF), Mohan Singh on Wednesday asked government to consider other factors while fixing responsibility of poor-pass percentage in board exams against teaching community.

Talking to reporters, Mohan said that before punishing the teaching fraternity, the government and administration should be accountable and responsible to raise the standard of education in government schools.

Mohan said that all the schools in rural and far-flung areas are under staff for so many years together, favoritism nepotism and corruption based transfer policy in Education Department, poor infrastructure of school building, laboratory, library and drinking water and toilet facility, dilly-daily tactics of administration and government regarding flag ship schemes like RMSA, SSA, MDM, political interference in transfers at all levels, failure of CCE to raise standard of education, poor monitoring and supervision of Government Education institutions, poor participation/attendance of the students belonging to labour class, nomads, farmers and BPL in teaching learning process and Almost negligible attention towards primary education are the some main factors responsible for poor performance in education department.

Others present in the press conference were Maheshwar Parsad, Ravinder Verma, Bhushan Verma, Gulzar Hussain, Mohd Qasim Malik, Ram Pal Saini, Agya Kour and Raj Rani.
