JAMMU: Panun Kashmir (PK) charged the Government of India with pursuing a policy for return and rehabilitation of Hindus of Kashmir which is as destructive to the survival of Hindus as the exclusivist mindset of the Kashmiri Muslim leadership.
“It seems that both the separatist establishment and the governments in the Centre and the State are working almost in tandem to destroy Hindus of Kashmir,” Dr Ajay Chrungoo, Chairman, Panun Kashmir, told reporters here today.
“We have now serious doubts that the political class in New Delhi has been willfully working in the direction that converts Jammu and Kashmir into a religious State,” he said.
While the rejection of the return of Kashmiri Hindus by the Kashmiri Muslims, he said, political class is the continuation of the genocidal war against them, the return policy of Government of India is a blatant denial of the genocide of Kashmiri Hindus.
“The talk of demographic change of Kashmir Valley is in fact a diversionary tactic to hide the systematic demographic change being brought out in Jammu province by the fundamentalist separatist establishment in the State in collusion with the governments in the State and at the Centre,” he said.
“We are witnessing the emergence of a religious fascist polity in Jammu and Kashmir promoted not only by the spread of Pan-Islamism but also by the policies of Government of India as well as the State Government. We are witnessing on a daily basis the emergence of a totalitarian system as exists in Saudi Arabia in Jammu and Kashmir,” he mentioned.
“Panun Kashmir condemns the campaign of systematic harassment of Kashmiri Hindus living in camps in Jammu. The stoppage of their relief and ration for months, deliberate stoppage of water and electricity to the camp residents have been amongst the most serious Human Rights violations against Hindus of Kashmir in recent times. The harassment has been unleashed on Hindus of Kashmir to force them to support and toe the government policies pursued in Jammu and Kashmir. Through sustained intimidation Kashmiri Hindus are being asked to conform and submit to a religious order being built in the State.
The rejection of coexistence across Kashmir by the entire political class in Kashmir is loud and clear. This should make it crystal clear to the entire nation of India that creation of the Union Territory of Panun Kashmir north and east of river Jhelum for the rehabilitation of internally displaced Hindus of Kashmir is an imperative,” he maintained.
Convener Panun Kashmir, Dr Agnishekher also addressed the press conference.
