Govt employees associations, unions endorse two-day strike call

JAMMU: Head of various government employees associations and unions in one voice endorsed the two-day strike call given by J and K Government Employees, Casual Labours, Workers and Pensioners United Platform on 3rd and 4th January 2017 throughout J and K State.
Talking to reporters here on Sunday, Mohammed Gafoor Dar State President, J and K National Trade Union Front appealed to the casual labourers of all the departments including government employees, public sector workers and pensioners of the State to observe strike and hold protest rallies at all the District Headquarters of the State on 3rd of January 2017 for implementing regularisation policy. Payment for regular wages under proper wages head and implementation of Seventh Pay Commission in the State were ther demands of the employees.
In Jammu city, he said, causal labourers, workers and employees will assemble in front of Divisional Commis-sioner Office, Panama Chowk, to hold a protest and memorandums will be submitted to all the District Development Commissioners including Divisional Commissioner.
On 4th January 2017 after observing strike massive rallies will be held in Press Club and Press Enclave Srinagar to force the State Government for consideration of the regularisation policy for more than 60,000 casual labourers of all the departments while presenting the new budget on 9th of January, 2017, he said.
Others present in the press conference included Nazir Ahmed Molvi President ITI employees United front, Rajinder Kumar-President JDA Employees and Workers Union, Vikramjeet Singh-President Sport Council Employees Union, Raj Singh-President Social Forestry Employees Union, Yashpal-President Floriculture Casual labours Union, Ankush-President Soil Conservation Casual Labourers Union, Raj Kumar-President Forest Research Casual Labourers Union, Sunny- President Local bodies Casual Labourers Union, Surjit Manyal- President Tube Well Irrigation Casual Labourers Union, Raj Singh-President MID Casual Labourers Union, Kewal Kishore-President MAM College Casual Labourers Union, Rajiv Sudan- President Casual Labourers Union Science College and Zaffar Iqbal-President Casual Labourers Union Wildlife.
Meanwhile, a delegation of J and K Government Employees, Casual Labour, Workers and Pensioners United Platform comprising various heads of federation / associations and unions led by its State Convener, Mohammad Gafoor Dar met Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti and submitted a charter of demands including regularization policy for need base casual labours and release of pending wages under proper wages head, implementation of Seventh Pay Commission for State employees at par with Central Government employees.
The delegation made it clear to Chief Minister that most genuine demand of casual labours of all departments engaged after 1994 for their regularisation policy is the top most priority of United Platform and demanded sympathetic consideration regarding their regularization in the present Budget session. The casual labours, who are already on streets for the last four months have no alternative except to intensify the ongoing agitation. The Chief Minister assured that the demands of casual labours regarding their regularisation are active consideration of government and the issue will be addressed shortly.
The delegation comprised of Kulwant Singh, Hari Singh, Tanveer Hussain, Abdual Ahad Bandroo, Rajinder Kumar, Nazir Ahmed Molvi, Shahid Hussain, Vikramjeet Singh, Deepak Gupta, Ranjit Singh Rana, Akhil Sharma, Punit Sharma, Pardeep Singh, Bhanu Partap Singh, Sanjeev Kumar, Surjit Manyal, Raj Singh, Karan Singh, Subash Chander, Farooq Duroo, Hussain Ahmed, Vijay Choudhary and Ankush.
