NAGPUR: The Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Kavinder Gupta, delivered an inspiring address at the 29th National Session of the Bhartiya Yuva Sansad, organised jointly by the Bhartiya Yuva Sansad-Media Foundation and Central Sanskrit University at the Maharshi Vyas Auditorium in Nagpur.
The event, held in the city associated with Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, brought together nearly 600 youth participants from across the country for discussions on national issues. The session began with Vande Mataram and concluded with the National Anthem. Prominent dignitaries present included Rahul Narwekar, along with senior academic officials of Central Sanskrit University.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Gupta emphasised the importance of preserving India’s linguistic heritage, stating that languages are the soul and identity of a nation. He expressed concern over the growing hesitation among youth in speaking their mother tongue and stressed that while learning English is important, it should not come at the cost of native languages.
Citing Narendra Modi as an example, Gupta highlighted the Prime Minister’s use of Hindi at global platforms, including international summits and the recent India AI Impact Summit 2026, as a symbol of cultural confidence. The Governor also spoke about India’s rich linguistic diversity, mentioning languages such as Kashmiri, Dogri, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, and Sanskrit as reflections of the country’s unity in diversity. Referring to the centenary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, he acknowledged the contributions of leaders like Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar and Balasaheb Deoras, and noted the organisation’s continued growth under Mohan Bhagwat. Highlighting the concept of Panch Parivartan, he elaborated on five key principles-self-awareness, family values, social harmony, environmental protection, and responsible citizenship-urging youth to adopt them in their lives.
Speaking on the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, Gupta underlined the crucial role of youth in shaping the nation’s future. He praised government initiatives such as the National Education Policy, Startup India, Skill India, and Digital India for empowering young Indians. In his concluding remarks, the Governor commended the organisers for bridging India’s ancient traditions with modern aspirations. Earlier, he paid floral tributes to Dr. Hedgewar and Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar at Smriti Bhoomi, honouring their enduring legacy of nation-building and service.
