Good education makes good citizens: ADGP Sahai

JAMMU: The Calliope School Doomi on Wednesday celebrated annual day with great enthusiasm and zeal in the school premises.
Additional Director General of Police, Armed, J and K, S.M Sahai was Chief Guest on the occasion while Chairperson ‘The Inner Call’ Forum for Evolution and Development and awareness Roma Wani presided over the function.
The function started with lighting of ceremonial lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana. Junior and senior KG kids also presented the dance with the great fun. Display of Martial arts, skating and cultural items by tiny tots were other attractions of the function. A skit on ‘Tenali Rama’ and ‘Swachh Bharat’ and dance item on Bhumbroo Bhumbroo song were the main attractions of the function.
The performance of the students enthralled the audience and left them spellbound.
The Principal of the School, Vatsalaya Sharma presented the school’s annual report.
Sahai emphasised that sound school education enables the students to perform well in their higher studies and also emerge as good citizens who contribute towards building a strong nation. He lauded the unique and exquisite performances put up by the children.
Sahai congratulated the school management for attaining good results in the academic and extra-curricular arenas and expressed the hope that school will continue imparting quality education and building overall personality of the students to make them better citizens.
The Chief Guest also distributed the prizes among the children for their performance in different activities in session 2014.
Chairman Manish Suri, Dr S.P Suri, Prof Aruna Suri, Deepali Suri, College Principal Sunita Pandita were also present on the occasion.
The programme was compered by the Coordinator of the School, Neha Uppal and Rohini Khajuria.
The programme culminated with vote of thanks by Shalini Malhotra.
