Goal is to play clean, attacking football: Dynamos owner
New Delhi: His team may be languishing at the bottom half of the standings but Delhi Dynamos’ top brass is content with the performance in the ongoing Indian Super League and says the side’s goal is to play good, clean and attacking football.
The Dynamos are placed seventh in the eight-team franchise-based inaugural football league.
Sameer Manchanda, chairman and managing director of Den Networks that owns the football franchise said: “Most important is how you play the game. We have actually played the game very well. We’ve played attacking football. We may not have won matches but we have played good clean football and that’s what I feel is most important. Winning or losing, it’s fine.”
Dynamos have only managed a solitary win in their six matches so far, having drawn two of their three home games and lost two successive matches on the road.
“In the first year, when you played the right game, football, you miss some chances or we would have been up in the chart. There is nothing for us, we don’t interfere. It’s the coach’s call. Our mandate is to give good, clean attacking football, ethical game. That’s gonna be Delhi team’s goal,” Manchanda said on the sidelines of a promotional event in New Delhi on Friday.
He said the team will have a different look in the next season of the league.
“Completely. We’ll have a different team, that’s a different thing but the way is very clear. Give it your best, as long as you give it your best, it’s fine.”
