POONCH: Glamorous Club outplayed Poonch XI by seven runs to claim the Shaheed Manjit Singh Memorial Twenty 20 Cricket Tournament title trophy at Degree Collage Ground here on Sunday.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, Glamorous Club set a target of 139 runs with Sheru and Deepak contributing highest 27 and 25 runs respectively. Adnan and Navid shared two wickets each. In reply, Poonch XI could make 131 runs to lose the game by seven runs. Parvaiz with 31 runs and Raja (25) were top scorers. Gurvinder claimed three wickets while Ropinder took two from Glamorous Club.
In the final and prize distribution function, MLA Haveli Poonch, Shah Mohd Tantrey was Chief Guest, who gave away the title trophies. He highlighted the contributions of Shaheed Manjit Singh and appreciated Chairman of Manjeet Singh Club, Mohd Tariq Khan for his efforts to promote sports in the district. The SSP Pooch, J.S Johar, ARTO, Jhangir Khan and DySP, Mohan Lal were among others present.
Final was officiated by the technical penal including Javid Iqbal, JP Singh and Romesh Kumar.
