Girls education vital for society’s progress: Kohli

RAJOURI: Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Abdul Ghani Kohli on Sunday said that education of girl child is very important for the development of the society and unless the goal of hundred percent female literacy rate is not achieved it would not be possible to transform the society on positive lines. Education is one of the most critical areas of empowerment for women and a lifeline to the development of society, he added.
The minister was addressing a mammoth gathering after laying the foundation stone of Girls hostel at Kalakote to constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 2.82 crore.
He said that women should be given a conducive environment to grow and seek quality education adding that an educated woman has the skills, information and self-confidence with which she can further contribute in the positive growth of the society.
Additional district development commissioner Rajouri A S Chib, Chief Education Officer Altaf Hussain District Sheep Husbandry officer, Dr Sarfraz chouhan, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Dr Ismail besides all other district officers were accompanying the Minister.
