GGM Science College organizes essay writing competition

JAMMU: The Grievance Redressal and Vigilance committee of GGM Science College Jammu organized Essay writing Competition on the topic “Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity” as part of ongoing Vigilance Awareness Week 2024.
The competition was organized under the patronage of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta and overall supervision of Prof. NP Sharma, Convener Grievance Redressal and Vigilance committee.
The event was aimed at emphasising the significance of integrity and ethical conduct in combating corrupt practices in government or private institutions.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of about 35 students who tried to highlight the need of becoming vigilant and committing to the highest standards of honesty and integrity to eradicate various social evils like corruption, illiteracy, poverty, pollution, drug addiction etc from the society. The judging panel consisted of faculty from Department of English namely Prof Akanksha Parihar and Prof. Varun Arya who assessed the essays based on the originality, rationality, ideas and depth of understanding of the theme. Aishwarya Sharma of Semester 1st bagged 1st position; Priya Sharma of Semester 3rd bagged 2nd position; Rishav Banotra & Tanisha Choudhary of Semester 3rd and Akriti Bhagat of Semester 1st shared 3rd position. Besides Gurmanvi Kour, Vanshika Gupta and Ayush Mansotra secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd consolation positions respectively.
The organizing committee members who were present in the occasion were Dr. Arun Sharma, Dr. Neha Mahajan, Dr. Sheetu Raina, Dr. Gourav Gupta, Prof. Vishal Sharma, Dr. Ameeq Rehman, Dr. Rajeev Kumar, Prof. Sahil Bangotra and Dr. Mohd. Maqeem.
The Principal of the college congratulated the winners and motivated the students to work specifically in right direction to achieve their dreams and aspirations. He also encouraged the students to participate in more such activities in future and appreciated the efforts of organizing committee for the program. The event concluded with closing remarks by Dr. Surinder Singh co-convener of the Grievance Redressal and Vigilance Committee.
