JAMMU: The GGM Science College retained the overall championship trophy securing highest 18 points in inter-college weightlifting championship, organised by Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu at Police Stadium, Gulshan Ground, here on Tuesday.
Government Degree College (GDC) Rajouri remained overall runners-up in the two-day competition.
In the prize distribution function, Registrar, University of Jammu (JU), Prof Keshav Sharma was the Chief Guest, who presented the overall trophy as also other individual prizes (medals).
Prominent among others present were Inspector, Daljeet Singh, Inspector, Sharat Singh, Dr Vinod Bakshi (Physical Director of Science College), Rakesh Puri, Ravish Vaid, Vikas Karlopia, Dr Brij Baloria and Romesh Sharma.
Matches were officiated by the technical panel comprising Daljeet Singh, Dayal Singh, Anil Kumar, Daleep Singh, Maninder Singh and Aman Khajuria. The event was held under the supervision of Jai Bharat.
