LEH: To ensure free and fair election in the district, General Observer (GO), Adesh Titarmare for Leh Assembly Constituency on Monday convened a meeting with the representatives of various political parties in Leh.
The meeting was also attended by the Returning Officer Leh, Nodal Officer, MCC, Nodal Officer Expenditure and Nodal Officer MCMC.
The General Observer gave strict instructions to the party representatives to adhere to the MCC guidelines of Election Commission of India especially during their campaign rallies. He also instructed them to maintain a proper expenditure register that will be checked by the Expenditure Observer every four days.
To avoid any sort of untoward incident during the election period, Adesh suggested the parties to approach the District Election Officer or himself personally. The Observer also replied to the queries of the political parties in the meeting.
The Nodal Officer Expenditure Leh informed the Observer that the political parties have been apprised of the guidelines regarding expenditure and MCC and have also conducted necessary training for them.
The Returning Officer later gave the party symbols to the contesting parties.
